Badger now says that he's turned both the Shi and the
Hubologists when you do something to piss him off (like attacking a vagrant).
For some reason this had been changed to just the Shi in the patch.

A few dialogue fixes sent to me by Wasteland Ghost, a member of TeamX:
-
Grisham now shouts the correct sentence when you're female and try to run away
after he catches you sleeping with one of his children.
-
A minor fix in Eldridge's dialogue.
-
Fixed a bug in a terminal on level 2 that could potentially crash the game.
Modified the batch file included in the unpacked version of the
patch so it's a little clearer that it worked correctly.

A few fixes for the bar brawl in Redding:
- Dan McGrew no longer thinks you killed everyone when you resolved it peacefully.
-
Sheriff Marion no longer says that you jailed one of Dan McGrew's miners when
you jailed one of Marge LeBarge's miners.

Fixed some problems with the packed version. Apparently I had
included a bunch of duplicate files in it, causing some problems.

A few fixes:
-
You now get an experience point message when you find the fuel regulator in the
old car in Trapper Town.
-
The footlockers on the north end of Broken Hills have been removed.
|
|
9-3-2005
|
|
There were some problems with the packed version not working, but
those should be corrected now.

Several new changes:
-
I finally figured out how to change the version number on the main menu! That
was bugging me for a very long time.
-
Entering Redding no longer crashes the game.
-
A couple things that the Fallout 2 purists were complaining about have been
removed.
-
To easily test whether or not the patch is working, I've placed a rock to the
left of the Temple of Trials' entrance.
-
With the addition of fallout2.exe, you no longer have to download the official
patch before installing this one.
That's about as far as I'm willing to budge on the purists'
complaints. Removing anything else would be restoring the discontinuities that I
tried to correct. If you don't like a change I've made:
-
If possible, avoid the change (i.e. if you don't like that you can get radiated
from drinking from Vault City's well, THEN DON'T DRINK FROM IT!)
-
Tell me a way to correct the discontinuity that you will agree with.
-
Make your own damn patch.
Ahhh...that felt good...

The big update is here. Thank you killap for all of the fixes you
implemented. Please note that it will not work with any of your current saved
games, so if you're pretty far into the game, you should probably finish it
first.

The next update will be big. I recently received a large
batch of fixes from a fan called killap. These fixes include things that I was
either stumped on, or didn't even know were broken. I should have it uploaded in
about a week or so.

Sorry for not updating in a while; the past two semesters were
pretty hectic. I would've uploaded the new patch last week, but the webserver was
down. Enjoy!
-
You can now unlock the elevator in the toxic caves with the electronic lockpick
MK II.
-
Changed the way you qualify for the autodoc hitpoints again.
-
You can now punch with the gold nugget, uranium ore, and refined uranium ore.
-
Included some fixes Haenlomal gave me:
-
The game no longer says you've helped Lara's gang when you help Tyler's gang.
-
You now get the correct message and experience points for helping Lara's gang.

I've added a new file to the Downloads section. It's a modified
worldmap file that increases the chance of encounters, since faster computers are
commonly able to traverse the worldmap unscathed. It's based off of one created by
Miran and Haris, but altered to make it compatible with my patch. See the readme
file for installation directions.

I'm trying out a new DAT packer from
TeamX, hoping it will fix those odd bugs in the packed version of my patch.
Let me know if it works! Also, I've made a few more fixes:
-
Viewing AutoDoc and Alcohol Hitpoint perks on the character sheet will no
longer crash the game.
-
It's now possible to get the Autodoc Enhanced/Lowered Hitpoints II perks from
the Autodoc in the Vault City courtyard.

Fixed a bug in San Francisco where opponents wouldn't be removed from the ring
after defeating them.
-
Fixed the error messages appearing on the corpses outside of the Sierra Army
Depot and the one in Trapper Town.
-
Your car no longer disappears when you go directly to Gecko's junkyard from the
world map.
-
Harold no longer starts talking about skin when you ask him why he called you
Vault Dweller.
-
Put the "useless" blue card back into Gecko's power plant. I forgot it could be
used to free Xarn.

Fixed an instance in the Gecko Power Plant desk guard's dialogue where you say
you want to ask about something else twice in a row.
-
The game no longer locks up when you have sex with Miria or Davin after killing
Jo.

You can no longer have conversations with the sink at NCR's entrance or the ones
on level 2 of Vault 15.

Made weapon upgrade prices more reasonable.
|

You no longer call Cassidy "MacRae" when selling him to Metzger.

Removed the useless blue card from the Power Plant.

Fixed a dialogue error that would appear when talking to the Duntons about
rustling cattle.

The street band in New Reno now actually sings.

Fixed a hole in the NCR entrance's bar.

Sorry for the long period with no updates. Physics 26 has been
putting me through a seemingly endless amount of pain and torment.
I've modified some of the functions in the header files, which means
that I've had to recompile every script file for the game. I know I could've
weeded through the code to single out the files that are actually using the
functions I've changed, but I just haven't had the time. Maybe once the semester
slows down I'll be able to do it, but until then you're just going to have to make
due with a bigger patch.
-
Stark must now actually see Marcus or Lenny before making a fuss about bringing
them into the city.
-
Apparently I was using the 1.00 version of Harold's script instead of 1.02. This
has now been fixed.
-
Fixed various instances in the code where functions weren't being used properly.
-
Completely re-did Pritchard's grave. The map is no longer an actual item. If you
have 8 or more perception, you now stumble upon his map while searching his grave
and automatically add it to your worldmap.
|
|
10-09-2004
|
-
Fixed a bug where telling Harold that your ancestor killed the Master would end
dialogue prematurely.
-
I had missed assigning a script to a group of dead bodies at the Sierra Depot
entrance, so they didn't have any descriptions assigned to them. This is now
fixed.
-
Switched the Bozar and M60 sounds. Supposedly they had been mixed up.
-
Fixed a major bug that caused the car to disappear at Navarro. Props to
Rob Rendell for spotting the error in the code that was causing this.
|
|
8-29-2004
|
|
Made several fixes:
-
The gate guards no longer call Marcus a "ghoul" or Lenny a "mutant." I had missed
an instance of it last time.
-
I think I've fixed the problem that caused everyone to see a bunch of red boxes
at the NCR entrance.
-
Fixed a bug where Chip would get mad at you for asking him for information when
in reality you did no such thing.
-
Dr. Fung will no longer cause the game to freeze when you ask him for stimpaks
after he refuses to heal you because you don't have the money to pay him.
-
You now have to actually mention Doc Holliday before Dr. Fung will put Chip's
spleen back in for free.
-
The endorphin blocker quest will now get crossed off your quest list after you
tell Dr. Troy about your theory of curing the Jet addiction.
-
Fixed a bug in my code for Skeeter that caused his upgrades to be excessively
cheap.

I'd like to give recognition to Haenlomal, who provided the source
files for the Fallout 2 v1.02 patch scripts. Thanks to him I didn't have to go back
and try to fix everything the v1.02 patch fixed. As soon as I get my laptop fixed,
he'll be mentioned in the readme files as well.

I'm reprogramming the website to make it more compatible with
different browsers, so some of the pages may appear odd during the next few
days.

Your party members will now be hidden when you watch the tape of
Horrigan killing Gruthar or Matt.

-
I trimmed a lot of superfluous code out of the script for the southern
terminal on the second level of the S.A.D.
-
Fixed an error in my code that made Skeeter overcharge for Magnum and Desert
Eagle upgrades.
-
Fixed a minor loop in the Gecko Power Plant Desk Guard's dialogue.
-
Due to something I just noticed in a dialogue, I reverted the keycard
locations at the Gecko Power Plant back to their default locations.
-
Fixed many "holes" in the walls of the NCR bazaar that could be fired through
like windows, despite appearing to be ordinary, solid walls.
-
The guard on level 3 with the H&K P90c now has the correct ammunition.
-
I've been informed that the H&K P90c doesn't use 9mm ammo, either, and since
I could find no evidence that the H&K P90c even really exists, I've decided
to change it back to 10mm.
-
I added a little bit to the F.A.Q.
-
I trimmed some useless code out of the website.
|
|
5-16-2004
|
-
Fixed a bug in my script for generic corpses that caused them to give "Error"
as the description when looked at.
-
I think I've fixed a bug in one of the S.A.D. terminals on level 2 that would
crash the game under certain circumstances.
-
I think I've really fixed Liz's dialogue this time so it won't lock
the game in dialogue mode anymore.
-
You can now correctly guess the password to disable the shock plates on level
2 of the S.A.D.
-
You can no longer use the chemistry workstations to get fuel for both the
tanker and the Enrologists.

Since this semester is coming to a close, I'll soon leave my dorm
and its T1 internet connection; this means that my updates to this patch won't be
as frequent. I wanted to announce this so no one starts thinking that I've abandoned
this project just because the patch hasn't been updated in a few weeks.
A couple fixes:
-
Fixed the bug in the Vault City Ammenities Sub-Officers that caused them to
charge less if you weren't a citizen.
-
Randal's prices are now higher (since the person who programmed Vault City
wrote all of the barter modifiers so that they did the exact opposite of
what was intended).
-
The gate guards no longer call Marcus a "ghoul" or Lenny a "mutant."
|
|
4-30-2004
|
-
A couple fixes:
-
Fixed a bug in the "Trash" cross in Golgotha.
-
Fixed a bug that caused your followers to stop following you around town
if you successfully convince Grisham that you were just giving Miria or
Davin a physical when he catches you having sex with them.
-
Added comments to my fix in Salvatore's script.
-
Updated the textfile instructions a little bit.
|
|
4-28-2004
|
|
A few small fixes:
-
Fixed a bug in my code for Miria's rape that would cause the game to
hang.
-
Changed the way Grisham got into the bedrooms to catch his children
having sex.
-
Fixed a bug in T-Ray so you can now sleep with him to successfully get
the car upgrade and batteries.
